John Mudd, the real estate agent who writes the successful "Inside Real Estate Journal", a blog of real estate properties for sale, sold, and tips for the consumer, has agreed to write an article for REALTOR® Magazine explaining his secrets for selling millions of dollars of property through his blog.
A "blog" is exactly what you are reading here (for those of you who need to know), a journal-based website with daily entries.
The article is set to appear in September 2005 issue. John focuses on the Tampa Bay market.
I can probably give you some insight on what he's going to say, being that I know something about blogs. I publish several of them. I think one of the keys to his success, is that he publishes his blog on Blogger, a platform used to operate and manage blogs. Blogger is owned by Google, Inc. Naturally, all content published on Blogger is going to be searchable through Google, almost immediately, and eventually from all of Google's competitor search engines.
In addition, John has made use of "newsfeeds". Newsfeeds are a way of syndicating your blog content to other websites, namely My Yahoo, Bloglines, Newsgator, which are the top three referrers of newsfeed-traffic.
John also has his own agent website, Home In Tampa Bay, where he promotes his services and lists all of his properties. He uses his blog site to direct visitors to his agent website. If you look at his blog, notice all the links appearing on the left-hand side of the page, such as "SEARCH MLS" and "FIND CONDOS", perhaps the most popular keywords his blog visitors are interested in.
What John Mudd knows is common knowledge among website publishers and marketers, but is perhaps a goldmine of information to agents who don't spend much time online. On the other hand, I'd be interested to read this upcoming article of his, just in case he's got another tip!

Very informative post. I have visited John Mudd's site, and it is a great site. I've found that blogs are a great way to get information about any topic you're looking for. For example, if looking for a great deal for a Ellicott, Maryland, we have a great place for you to start at ellicott.inside-real-estate.com.
I want to thank everyone for reading John's blogs. John deserves a great deal of respect as he was diabetic and still worked hard at helping his clients to find new homes. John has passed on and won't be writing his blogs anymore.
