Great tips here mate. I also came across an article similar to yours. In the early days of the web, all links were blue-underlined text. It seems that people haven't adapted to modern web 2 standards. Well, theres no existing standard as most websites are modifying the look of their links to match their site's design.

You can also use border-bottom, along with text-decoration:none to give links more customization while still being underlined, dotted, dashed and different colored underlined borders on links work well, and should please a lot of design savvy folks.

Fabulous Post, sometimes you just have to set creativity on the shelf and focus on intuitiveness. If people can't operate your web site, how are you going to accomplish anything with it? Navigation systems are another thing that is completely inconsistent from page to page.
